We are happy to report our recent settlement of a products liability lawsuit which alleged that a major domestic auto manufacturer built vehicles with flimsy rear bulk heads. This was particularly dangerous in head-on collisions where 150 pounds of luggage can generate several tons of forward pressure.

In the head-on collision, which claimed three lives, our 19-year-old client lost her left arm when the rear seat back caved in. At impact, the forward movement of the seat back pressed our client into the seat belt which acted as a ligature creating a guillotine-like effect. This resulted in the traumatic amputation of her left arm.

In the end, a costly battle of automotive experts ensued. However, the settlement, the terms of which must remain confidential as a condition of settlement, will enable our client to lead a more comfortable life.
